Doug Jones - 7 posts
Doug Jones completed a degree in English at Warwick and later an MPhil on the poet Bill Griffiths at King’s College London. During that time, he fell in with Bob Cobbing’s Writer’s Forum workshop – a huge influence.
Doug has published seven books of poetry with Veer, Salo press, Contraband and Loxham press. A collaboration with the late poet Clive Gresswell is pending with Aquifer. Work has also appeared in datableed, Chicago Review, Junction Box, blackbox manifold, Golden Handcuffs Review, Pamenar – as well as a few other places.
In the 90s Doug worked as a nurse in the medical admissions unit at The Royal London Hospital – then later retrained as a doctor. Doug is currently working as a full time GP in Great Yarmouth. He is the clinical lead for the homeless outreach team – as well lead GP for asylum seekers in the practice.
This is part of a new series of Veer Books to be produced and published jointly in the University of Surrey and the CPRC, Birkbeck College.
