'This sequence is an exploration and expression of various states of mind and being, a reflection of them and a partial dissection of them, and I hope it shows a resistance to them and the powers and privileges behind them. However I fear and accept it may also excessively be a poetry of despair, even 'florid despair' as Danny Hayward has pointed out in reference to some poetry. I felt a need to do what I was attuned to and could do well, not doing something else weakly and which others do strongly already, and maybe it will inform, act as a red-light, an alert to the waste and sickness we are in and moving deeper into. It doesn't have to be this way.'
This is part of a new series of Veer Books to be produced and published jointly in the University of Surrey and the CPRC, Birkbeck College.
